Goddess face masks, straight from the kitchen

Face masks are a ritual many people use to assist the skin topically. What most don’t know are that most commercial face masks are often full of parabens and preservatives that can irritate the skin and can usually be quite expensive. Facemasks are a form of self-care, teaching yourself to care for yourself as you would for others.

You can make your own facemasks from the ingredients in your very own kitchen!

Here are my go to 3

1.     Turmeric masks – ¼ tsp of turmeric powder mixed with ¼ tsp of coconut oil

Be careful, as this one tends to stain, make sure you exfoliate it off in the shower after. This mask is great for spots and pimples on the face as it often reduces the inflammation and gives the skin a glowy complexion.

2.     Green goddess mask - 1tbsp of yoghurt with 1tsp of spirulina powder or alternative greens powder. This encourages the cell renewal process encouraging a brighter and more hydrated complexion.

3.     Bentonite clay mask - ¼ tsp of bentonite clay mixed with apple cider vinegar, mix until facemask consistency.

Bentonite clay has healing effects for the skin such as drawing out toxins, removing dead skin, evens skin tone and apple cider vinegar is extremely hydrating and anti-bacterial. Only do this mask once a week as it detoxifies your skin and it’s important to not overdo this process.
